Naval Captain Bill Wilson Scholarship

The Naval Association of Canada - Calgary Branch is pleased to announce the Naval Captain Bill Wilson Scholarship. The scholarship is designed to encourage academic study of matters relating to maritime security and defence. It will be presented to the winning recipient in the Spring of 2024.

A two thousand five-hundred-dollar ($2,500) scholarship will be awarded to an Alberta student who is applying to, or is enrolled in, a Masters or Doctorate program in History and/or Strategic studies for the academic year 2023-2024.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria. Applicants must:
  1. Be enrolled at an accredited Alberta university or college, either full-time or part-time in the school year 2023-2024. The scholarship is for study at the Masters or Doctorate level.
  2. Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a degree related to history or security;
  3. Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0GPA; and
  4. Be a citizen of Canada.
Applications must be completed and submitted to scholarship@naccalgary.ca by no later than March 29, 2024. All applications will be reviewed by a specified review panel from the NAC – Calgary Branch, and the winning applicant will be contacted by the NAC-Calgary Branch.
